If I designed an Internet platform
My needs and wants are simple. Unfortunately 'simple' is not valued on the Internet. Anything that starts out 'simple' ends up getting bloated. This is why I started using Bearblog; it is simple.
But unless you pony up some pesos you can't post images. So I found another site which lets me post images for free. Unfortunately that site doesn't have text posting. Bummer.
Neither have much interaction with viewers ability, which in many ways is a good thing; I do not like being told I'm no good by people who can't write in complete sentences. Okay, I don't like negative feedback from anyone. Who does?
So guess what; another site that has better viewer interaction capability. But it doesn't allow images without paying money. Sorry; I'm not made of money: pension income and 300% inflation is making things difficult.
WordPress used to supply my needs for free, but guess what? Yes; it got bloated. It barely functions anymore. So instead of one platform that does meet my needs I'm on three separate ones that each provide one aspect of Internet platform use that I seek.
And that is what the Internet is becoming: workable sites become unworkable as they try to be everything to every one, free sites wanting money to provide functionality, and a few near-invisible sites that remember how the Internet used to be. Those are for us oldsters who long for the not-so-distant past.
