Movies review
I like movies. Some movies. Old movies. New movies ... not so much.
Recently I bought a set of four John Wayne movies. Not because I wanted them all, but there was one I did want and the whole set was cheaper than what I could find that individual one for! Go figure, eh?
Anyway I will now give a really quick review of the four:
Fort Apache; terrible. Oddly some scenes are shot on infrared film, and it doesn't work.
The Searchers; terrible. Its plot is 'all over the place' and there's nothing worth looking at.
The Cowboys; quite probably the worst movie ever made. Certainly the worst western. Some moron thought this was a good idea, and so did enough other morons so it got made.
Rio Bravo; the reason I bought the set. Not a great movie, but watchable and fun in parts. Howard Hawks director. Some people thought this was so good that it got remade as Rio Lobo. It's also the basis for the very funny Support Your Local Sheriff.
Can't trim a review down much more than that, eh? Well yes; there are plenty of bad movies out there for which the single word "crap" would suffice.
