OpenAI asks court to quash B.C. privacy commissioner’s Tumbler Ridge investigation

The only answer to this request is "no".
This is not a fascist dictatorship where duly authorised bodies can be ordered to stop their investigation into an incident. No matter which agency, no matter what incident. Facts need to be discovered and disclosed.
Why would OpenAI even ask such a thing?
Because they know they share guilt for the crime. It can not be dismissed by "we didn't do it; the AI did" or "there's no law that says we have to monitor use and disclose potential harm" although I'm sure both 'defences' would be used in court. They certainly don't want any amount of guilt on their part to be on public record, even though it so obviously already is.
Of course what they're most afraid of is that the revelation of their involvement in planning the mass murder of children will hurt their profits. Even as the CEO warns of problems with the technology and they float an IPO expected to be "the biggest ever". For something no one needs and that has already been proven to be harmful.
Thus to all those OpenAI people and their lawyers we say: how can you live with yourselves? If you can so easily dismiss your role in this horrific crime then you are not human.
Just like your horrible Imitation Intelligence technology.
