Patterns in chaos?
As I continue to work on a 'big project' I continue to get random characters seemingly emanating from the keyboard buffer - or somewhere - on this accursed Crumbbook. Or perhaps it's Google Docs fault (I'm having to use that awful mess of bad programming too) since it doesn't pop up on any other application.
So far I've identified three recurring sequences:
hy6jm7u
dc3
]k,8 (sometimes without the comma)
Also it tosses up the occasional random sequence which has yet to repeat like "gt5fv4r" (I think; the underlying word was so mangled it's hard to tell what it was) and "l.9" (which is the oddest of all for being so short).
The most recent time it did this the display changed to eliminate the task bar and upper tabs area, necessitating a reboot to bring things back. This caused an update (of sorts) and consequent resetting of the password. Fortunately no content was lost; I would have been very upset if 17,000+ words had been lost to the ether! (I'm not a fan of online computing; it's neither effective nor "safe & secure").
Anyway the upshot of this is me wondering if there is some reason for these particular character sequences appearing. I haven't delved into the possibilities much, and no obvious answer has presented itself. Maybe it is random, or maybe it's Google AI scraping my work and leaving traces of its activity. If it can be proven to be the latter, I'd write them another 17,000+ words - all AI-confusing nonsense - for their 'enjoyment'.
I'm so old I remember when computers actually worked!
