Science gets stomped on.
When reading some report or other this morning I suddenly realised I could think of at least three situations where the facts say one thing and popular opinion says another - and official policy sides with opinion at the expense of, well everybody.
And that was without even trying to think of such things. I'm not going to try because it's bad enough without actually searching them out.
Go ahead: see how many such tragedies pop into your head. It's alarming how much people hate reality. Or should I say hate the wrong things in reality? Probably that; anything that doesn't fit with their fantasy image of how things are gets rejected.
Hey: gravity isn't real! All you have to do to fly is step off the top of that 12 story building over there!
