Task complete
I set myself a simple task today: take the script version of a story segment I'd written and edit it into the book version I was working on.
For some reason the formatting didn't convert properly, despite both having been written on the same program. No matter, as the formatting wasn't key to the effort anyway. But it was a little odd that the automatic tabbing which had inexplicably but welcomedly shown up for no discernible reason suddenly had disappeared even as I added on to the existing portion with new lines. Oh well, that doesn't matter either I guess. Especially as no one is likely to ever see it.
The gist of the segment remained, but of course the style changed - along with some of the order and structure. This is to be expected when changing from one type of writing to another, as narrative is either taken out or in this case added in (normally it is the former as books are adapted to scripts).
But the main point is that I did it. Not a major effort. Not anything important. Just a small accomplishment for someone who manages so few of them these days.
