That's the UN telling us what we already know: AI is dangerous.
He left out the other thing we already know: it's useless.
Then there's the third thing: it isn't going to be stopped because too many greedy criminals stand to make even bigger fortunes off the utter destruction of civilisation (nothing new about that either).
Of course when that comes to fruition those rich people are going to be wondering what happened when all the poor people who made them rich, and did all the real work, are gone. No one to serve them. No one to collect data from. No one to exploit.
Too bad we won't be around to laugh at them.
