YouTube demonitizing maybe?
You've seen the complaints from content creators, right? "YouTube demonitized me after 9 years!" and such. Or how they can't meet the new, 'higher standards'. Lots of reasons for it, right? Like ... swearing in a video or using copyrighted material (even a snip of a recognisable song in the background) or unproven (because they never check beyond running AI over it) complaints about ... whatever.
Here's another possible reason: your video/channel doesn't make enough money for them.
That's it. That's all. They do not care a whit about anything else. They can't be bothered to 'do the maths' on small-time creators (even though it's all done by computer). Writing out a cheque for $ 0.49 for a million view video isn't worthwhile for them (even though that's done electronically too). No, they only want the big dollar bringers. No more 'small fry', independent video producers.
In other words, exactly the opposite of how it started out.
